Ronnie Wiley has been active in the construction industry since 1995 and still works hard today to make Wiley Log Homes a company worthy of bearing his family name. Ronnie’s appreciation for Handcrafted Traditions started early in life. He grew up in the hollows of West Virginia where, early on, he developed an interest in items that people made with their hands. “I can remember as a little boy walking through the state parks, and learning about the Civilian Conservation Corp who had built the structures there, and wondering why people didn’t take pride in their work anymore.”
As luck would have it, his future Scoutmaster and mentor, Charlie Dundas, owned a company that carried on the great legacy of work the CCC had started so many years ago. Ronnie recounts, “I remember going into the woods with Charlie to build a bench. All we had was a chainsaw and chisel but after a few hours, we turned the natural existing materials into a beautiful bench, full of all the beauty and character Mother Nature spent so long creating.”
